How the price works, and what it covers
The three things customers ask most before they book.
Pricing is per unit and by type, not by BTU — every wall-mounted unit costs the same whatever its size. Ceiling cassette, suspended, floor-standing and ducted units are priced separately because they take longer to strip down and clean.
If you do not yet know what is wrong, start with the inspection. The technician measures refrigerant, checks the wiring and the compressor, and tells you the cause and the cost. What happens next is your decision.
Every job starts with a look at the actual site. If it turns out larger than what you booked, you are quoted first and you decide — nothing is added on site without telling you.

How many BTU does your room need?
Set the room size, pick how hard it is to cool, and get the unit size that fits plus a rough monthly bill.
An undersized unit runs flat out and costs more than you expect; an oversized one short-cycles and leaves the room damp. Matching the unit to the room is the single biggest saving available.

Twice a year suits most homes. Units that run most of the day, sit beside a main road, or share the house with pets are better cleaned every four months. The signs it is due: weaker airflow, a smell when it starts, or water dripping from the indoor unit.
No. The price follows the type of unit: every wall-mounted unit costs the same at any BTU. Ceiling cassette, suspended, floor-standing and ducted units each have their own price because they are built differently and take longer to strip down.
Not always. A unit can stop cooling because the coil is blocked with dust, the compressor is not running, there is an electrical fault, or the refrigerant is leaking — and topping up a leaking system only buys a few months. Book the inspection first: the technician finds the cause and quotes the repair before doing it.
It is an estimate from room size and use, which is enough to narrow down a unit size. It does not yet account for ceiling height, which way the room faces, how many people are in it, or how well the walls are insulated. For an actual installation the technician surveys the site and confirms the size before anything is ordered.
Clear the space under the indoor unit and around the outdoor unit so the technician can reach both, and have a water point and a power socket nearby. The technician sheets down the area and clears it again before leaving.
